San Diego Trip: Going Home

On the last day of our trip, we had to catch a 6:30am flight.

Here were are leaving at 4:30am.

Dei Dei got to look out the window this time.

I needed my sunglasses to protect my eyes.

Dei Dei was drooling.  We suspect he was teething during the trip because he was pretty fussy and kept biting us.

Here, I'm dressed for Seattle and still in my PJs.

Once again, Dei Dei kept running away.

I went after Dei Dei too.

When grandpa was driving us back home, the first thing I asked was, "Where is the sun and where are the palm trees?"

San Diego Trip Part 4: The Zoo

On the day before our return trip, we went to the San Diego Zoo.  Since it was so big, we thought we'd focus on animals we couldn't find at Woodland Park Zoo (which were plenty), but there were a few cool exhibits -like the cheetah with its dog companion.  Some of the animals, like the cheetah, get walked around the zoo.  That day we saw a big white wolf being walked.
We saw most of the exhibits by tour bus and sat on top of the double decker bus.  That saved us some time and energy.  Unfortunately, Dei Dei didn't like to sit still for the ride and managed to throw his hat overboard while were in the big cats area during the tour.

This exhibit had lots of fish swimming around in the pond where the hippos hung out.

Daddy was trying to taunt the bonobos (pygmy chimps) here.

We went to see the pandas.

Only the mama panda Bai Yun, was there that day because papa Panda had an annual exam.

I found some bamboo and wanted to feed her.

I loved looking at all the exhibits.  The aviarys were cool and I loved watching the birds.  I wish I could come back again!

San Diego Trip Part 3

Lia and Eli's mommy and daddy invited us over to their beautiful house the day after.  We spent the day with them playing outside in the yard overlooking Orange County, picking tangelos from their tree, and playing indoors and having hotpot.  It was fun spending time with them again because we miss them a lot in Seattle.

San Diego Trip Part 2: Sea World

Mommy and Daddy had been talking to me about going to Sea World for a while and I was pretty excited to go.  I even brought my orca along.

Our first stop was an Elmo 4-D show.

We went on some Elmo rides too.  Dei Dei and Mommy were in the Elmo fish right before us.  Dei Dei was screaming right before the ride because he didn't want the seat belt on, but he enjoyed it when the fish went in the air.

We waited in line for the next ride and Dei Dei was trying to copy Eli here.

We sat right across from each other.

Mommy got sort of dizzy from the ride.

We saw 3 shows that day- sea lions, dolphins, and my favorite, the Shamu show.

Here, the trainer just tossed some fish into Shamu's mouth.

Throughout the whole trip, I sucked my thumb a lot.  Mommy and Daddy think it's because of all the new things going on.

Dei Dei loved the show too!  We got wet a bit because we sat at the top of the soak zone.

Dei Dei's diaper was a bit loaded after all the shows, thankfully we had a change of clothes with us.

Of course, Dei Dei always ran away from us.  We had to keep up with him.  Eventually, we walked around a bit and saw sharks, penguins (we saw big emperor penguins!), and birds.

At the end of the day, we spent some time in the games area, Daddy's favorite place.  Do you see the giant crane in the back?  And if you look carefully, you can see me too.

Daddy wanted to show off his muscle here.

I had a lot of fun at Sea World, wish I could have visited another day.

San Diego Trip Part 1

On my mid-winter break, we went to San Diego.

The first night was tiring.  Dei Dei ran around the airport so much, at least four people made comments about how much energy he had. We were seated separately on the plane and Dei Dei was pretty squirmy. We both ran around the rental car place and I fell and bonked my head.

See my bandage?

We went to La Jolla Cove to meet up with our friends.  You can see the seals sunbathing on the beach.
And pelicans too.

We met up with Kenzie, Toby, & Jesse and their mommy and daddy.

I got really close to the seals.

 They were taking naps

There were some seal pups too.

We went to the park area and

I tried to climb a tree.

Soon Lia and her family came.

Jesse and Dei Dei were trying to impress a girl there with their ball playing.

Us girls found sunflower seeds on the ground.

Daddy tried to do some exercise running up and down the hill.

It was nice just shooting the breeze with everyone.

After the park and some lunch, we went to Mt. Soledad, which has 360 view of San Diego.

It was hard getting a picture of all 3 of us.

It was fun up there.  I really liked the breeze up there and hanging out with my friends.

Collie and Jaggers

I miss Auntie Amy and Uncle Jason's dogs Collie and Jaggers because they have moved away.  I used to walk them with Grandma when they were here.

Dei Dei misses them too.  He likes to crawl around on all fours like a dog and eat things off the floor, or drink from a water dish.

Eye Check Up

I've been seeing Dr. Weiss, my opthamologist, since I was a month old.  I need glasses (they figured this out early on) but I probably won't get them because of my busy lifestyle for now.

Foul Ball

Dei Dei doesn't need a T to hit the ball now, but he still has to work on hitting a fair ball.

Dei Dei at Kid's Cove

While I was at school, Dei Dei went to the kids play area at Bellevue Square.

At first he was hesitant, but in no time at all, he was everywhere.

And climbing on top of everything pretty fast.

He had a lot of fun.
