Milestones Month

After 4 months of big girls preschool (3 months hippotherapy, 8 months sensory integration PT, >3 years of regular PT)*, I was reaching almost all my IEP gross motor goals. I can walk on uneven surfaces without falling (i.e. gravel, wood chips at the playground, rocky surfaces), jump, and even walk up 2 steps unassisted (no handrail and still working on more steps).

All my teachers and therapist say that I have to work harder than most people to do things that most take for granted. I still have more goals to accomplish, but Mommy and Daddy are so amazed at my progress and so proud of me for coming this far! And Dei Dei is happy too!

*All this doesn't include 2.5 yrs of feeding therapy, and 3 yrs of hearing education, and 3yrs of weekly to monthly visits to Children's Hospital.

Like Father, Like Son

Hmmm, this looks familiar. Who is this? Grandpa and Daddy!

Another generation later, Dei Dei and Daddy.

This is Daddy and me (People have noticed, we have a lot of these sleeping Daddy pics).

Daddy says Fong fat makes a great pillow.

He has a nice pillow.

Happy Easter!

Hi! Happy Easter! Mommy made us do some pictures for Easter.

Dei Dei's sitting executive style

We look a little worried in this picture. Don't worry, the bunny just flopped right in front of us and held really still the whole time. Dei Dei tried to pet him a few times.

Oh brother, not more pictures.

Dei Dei was distracted by all the stuff around us.

This is Dei Dei trying to pretend he's a worried bunny.

Don't worry, he smiles for the camera.

Superman!

Dei Dei's serious pose.

We're back together again. I'm waving my "Bellevue Square" Bunny. (Yes, that's his name.)

A serious shot.

I'm smiling, but Dei Dei's worried that I'm gonna drop him.

And yes, this is a real bunny. Daddy said, "Poor bunny," when he heard about the bunny photo session." But this bunny was very well behaved and stayed very still (unlike us).

Keep Away From Dei Dei

Dei Dei always likes to play with me. Sometimes he'll pull my hair or eat my hand. I don't complain that much. This is what I did when he crawled over to eat my feet while I was looking at the Ipad.

Family Zoo Trip

During my spring break, we all went to the zoo, our first trip of the year and Dei Dei's first one. It was a little rainy, so I spent some time at the zoomasium. I love the flax sensory table and spent a lot of time at it.
We went to one of my favorites, the penguin exhibit. This time I was able to walk on the rocky surface without falling. Mommy and Daddy were excited. This is great progress! All my therapies must be helping. In this photo, I'm hanging out with Daddy in the penguin cave and...

trying to hatch the eggs.

We visited the flamingos, the bug house, and the farm. I didn't check out the rest of the zoo because I spent so much time in zoomasium.

I've seen almost everything at the zoo before, but the bug house was something new to me. Usually, Mommy avoids it because she's not so fond of bugs, but with my new fascination with "A Bug's Life," I've been into bugs a lot.

We made a stop at the gift shop and I loved checking out the little toy table.

Daddy dropped one of the elephants and almost hit Dei Dei, but he's okay here.

This giraffe was stong enough to hold me!

Buffing Up

While Mommy and I are at PT and hippotherapy, Dei Dei hangs out with Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandma Fong. Dei Dei needs to work out more so he can develop those Fong boy muscles. Great Grandma: Aaron, drop and give me 10 pushups!

New Threads

Some clothes that I got (this one from Auntie S & T & Uncle D) fit now.

I'm pretty happy that Mommy dressed me in more "mature" clothes, instead of those funny footed PJs with barnyard animals on them.

With this cool jacket from Auntie L & Uncle D,

I can look more "bad boy."

or I can charm some babe(y)s with my debonair looks.

Ha ha ha!

Just kidding!

Well, we'll see. :)

Dei Dei and My Flashing Duck

I got this flashing duck from my classmate Ben's birthday party.

Dei Dei is always interested in everything I play with.

I don't always share with him, though.

He doesn't seem to mind.

Sometimes I think he is crazy.

I don't give him my things because he eats them.

Of course, sometimes I don't give him things because they're mine.

No matter how hard her tries, I keep it away. Sometimes I taunt him just for fun (that's what big sisters do). He doesn't seem to mind.
Dei Dei is a good sport!

I shared the baby lion with him.

But I'm still keeping the flashing duck.
